This is the next step in your ballerina’s education. Junior Ballet I dancers have completed Pre-Ballet, have had at least one year of ballet experience, or have been approved by audition by a BBA instructor. Age 9 and up.
This program is dedicated to the development of the complete performer, both technically and artistically. Dancers, ages 9 & up, will take 2 classical ballet technique classes per week, plus a pre-professional ensemble class with a rotating focus, including pas de deux, character, repertoire, and performance pieces. Dancers are encouraged to round out their education with yoga and pointe classes (Senior Students).
The ensemble dancers will have 3 performance opportunities including our December Nutcracker, a February All Ensemble Showcase and a June Group Performance.
The Birchwood Ballet Academy will follow an expertly designed syllabus, inspired by the Vaganova method of ballet technique. This syllabus allows each level of students to fully develop the skills required to move to the next tier.
