Congratulations to VDP Senior Company Captain Samantha McNamara.  She has been selected as a Federation of Dance Competitions ICON  Dancer!  From the thousands of dancers across the country, Sam was one of 13 dancers nominated to receive this honor, and the only one from Minnesota!

The FDC ICON winner was selected by the public voting for their favorite dancer.   1117 of Samantha’s supporters stepped up to give her this title.

Congratulations Samantha!  Your VDP family is SO PROUD OF YOU!

Edina High School Sophomore, Samantha McNamara, is a member of the Edina High School Dance Team, the Victoria Dance Productions Senior Company Captain, and now the Federation of Dance Competitions (FDC) ICON Dancer of the Year.

The FDC is a non-profit organization that sees hundreds of thousands of dancers perform on their stages throughout each competition season. From these competitors, the member organizations (13 National Competitions) of the FDC, selected 13 dancers from across the country as their “Icon” nominees. Samantha is one of these nominees, the only one from the hundreds of talented dancers from the great state of Minnesota!

Samantha has been dancing at Victoria Dance Productions since she was 3 years old, and competing since she was 4. She performs in small and large groups, as well as the numerous solo routines that led to this nomination. This summer, her competition team was invited to and competed in the 1st ever World Dance Championships in Dallas, TX. Sam’s team, the Victoria Dance Productions Senior Company, was one of five chosen from the thousands that were eligible for this honor!

The FDC Icon winner was selected by the public by voting for their favorite dancer! 1117 of Samantha’s supporters stepped up to give her this award. 17 has always been Sam’s lucky number.

Samantha is VERY honored to be nominated for this distinguished award and extremely excited to be the first ever face of the FDC as the FDC Icon Dancer!
