Requirements

Our Performance Team members, ages 5-14, are chosen through a 3-day audition process.  Dancers take at least 2 classes each week, including one performance team routine jazz class and one base class; Either a recreational class or a Birchwood Ballet technique class. Also available are optional Performance Team tap, hip hop, acro and jazz technique classes.

The 2023-24 Performance Team Audition Workshop will take place on July 24-28, with auditions on Friday, July 28.  Exact audition times will be determined on July 25th.

Performance Opportunities

Our teams perform 4-6 times each year, including the opportunities outlined below.

• Edina Dance Team Invitational (January)
• Minnesota Timberwolves and/or Lynx Halftime Show (December-May)
• Various Senior Centers (December-March)
• One Recreational Dance Competition (April)
• Alex’s Lemonade Stand (June)
• Our Annual Recital (June)

 Time Commitment

• One 60-Minute Team Jazz Class
• One Base Class: Either a VP recreational class or a Birchwood Ballet Technique Class
• Optional: Performance Team Tap, Hip hop, jazz technique classes.

Costs

• Tuition: Rates vary by your choice of base and optional classes selected. 10% multiple class discount applies.
• Age-appropriate Performance Team costumes rented from VDP-Approximately $45-$50. Additional costume fees vary by base and optional classes selected.
